FREE School Outreach Program

Our highly motivated and skilled staff and volunteers visit schools and community centers to teach Americans about various aspects of Japan and further international understanding.

Some of our past programs have been:
Shodo-Japanese calligraphy
Pop culture and fads overview
Japanese writing
Origami
Show and tell of misc. items
Discussion of Japanese culture and history
Holiday festivals such as Children's Day, Oshogatsu and Setsubun
Counting in Japanese through radio exercises
Art and craft projects
Tea ceremony
Soroban-abacus
Kamishibai-traditional story telling cards
Toy making
Basic martial arts-aikido, karate, kendo, etc.
Japanese children's games and songs
Video or slide discussion on Japanese themes

Though we will make every effort to accommodate your needs, some programs may not be available due to budget, instructor availability, location or scheduling conflicts. Hyogo Business & Cultural Center reserves the right to accept or decline any and all Outreach requests.
