15th Hosting of the Great Hanshin Earthquake Hyogo Kenjinkai Club Go! Gathering



A memorial and reception for the 26th Anniversary of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake will be hosted by Club Go! on January 16th, 2021.

"Today, we are pleased to announce the 26th Anniversary of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake memorial service and reception. On January 16, 2021, the "26th Anniversary of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake" memorial service will be held by the Northeast American Hyogo Kenjinkai "CLUB GO!" and the Kobe International Club. In 2021, it will be 26 years since the "Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake" occurred on January 17, 1995, which caused the precious loss of life of 6,434 people and enormous damage."
"The Northeast American Hyogo Kenjinkai "CLUB GO!" has been holding a memorial service for the victims of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake since 2010, and since the Great East Japan Earthquake and Kumamoto Earthquake, the New York Miyagi Kenjinkai, Aomori Kenjinkai, Akita Kenjinkai, Iwate Kenjinkai, Fukushima Kenjinkai, Yamagata Kenjinkai, Hokkaido Yukari no Kai, and Osaka Association, Tokushima Kenjinkai, Kyushu Association, Battensen Association, and others have also attended our meetings and have been involved in support activities and cooperation."
"Under these circumstances, our Prefectural Association will hold a memorial service remotely on January 16, 2021 (New York time) to coincide with January 17, 2021 (Japan time) when the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake occurred, as follows."
"The memorial service will include a piano requiem performance by pianist Yurika Mihara, and a moment of silence by Kenji Nakagaki, Vice President of the Buddhist League of New York. We sincerely hope that you will take time out of your busy schedule to come to this event. Please register in advance and as early as possible."

- Concert begins at 6:00 p.m.

- The ceremony will last approximately 30 minutes. The reception will follow for about an hour.
