Anime and More at Sakura-Con

Updated: Sep 20, 2022

Anime-Related Tourism in Hyogo and Kansai

From Friday, April 15th to Sunday, April 18th, the HBCC featured a booth at Sakura-Con, the largest anime convention in the Northwest! This year's convention was held after a 2-year hiatus due to COVID-19.

At our booth, we shared information regarding travel to Hyogo Prefecture and the Kansai region, specifically highlighting anime, manga, and game-related spots. These spots include Nijigen no Mori, the Osamu Tezuka Manga Museum, the Kyoto International Manga Museum, and Universal Studios Japan. Our intern at the time also created a handout with spots in Hyogo that are featured in various anime, such as the Kobe Ohashi Bridge which is featured in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya as well as various Fate media.

We also brought back our Himeji Castle backdrop, and had a number of appearances from Habatan. We also gave out coloring pages of Himeji Castle.

Thanks to everyone who attended, and we look forward to seeing you again next year!
