In order to raise the level of Japanese language education, the HBCC will hold a workshop for teachers of Japanese language every summer in cooperation with the Washington State Japanese Language Teachers Association.

Dates: June 28th - July 1st, 2014

Lecturer: Mr. Yasuhiko Tosaku

Professor, University of California, San Diego


Born in Hakodate, Hokkaido in 1953. Completed graduate studies at the University of California, San Diego. Has a Ph.D. in Linguistics. Specializes in second language acquisition theory and foreign language teaching methods. He is a leading expert in teaching Japanese.


He has held important positions in foreign language education-related organizations in the U.S., including president of the American Association for Japanese Language Education.
