This year marks the 70th anniversary of Miffy!🐇🎉 Kobe Port Tower is currently celebrating this anniversary🏆🌈 with each floor featuring photo spots📸, collaboration food & desserts🍨✨, a Dick Bruna artwork gallery🖼, a merchandise shop🧺, and a lookout with hidden Miffy to discover.🧸🔍

The Miffy Cafe "Dick Bruna TABLE"☕🍽 is also worth highlighting as the only Miffy cafe in the Kansai Region🗾 (located in Kobe, Hyogo; and Yokohama, Tokyo). Fans should stop by for lunch or tea🫖 time to enjoy a relaxing moment surrounded by charming Miffy-themed decor and details.

This collaboration runs until September 22nd (JPT), except for the cafe, which remains open year-round.📅😍

Just like his adorable🥰look, Yappu is kind and easygoing.Yappu has the ability to start the rain💧 with his scarf🧣, so he sometimes helps people in the city when they need rain. Unlike Yappu, Yappi is moody and active🤸, and she loves Yappu♥️.
Their jobs are to promote Yabu city, and engage with the community💪. Yabu city has lots of places to explore✨, such as Hachi Kogen on Mt. Hachibuse. You can enjoy a variety of sports throughout the year there - skiing⛷️, snowboarding🏂, hiking🥾, mountain biking🚴, etc. Yabu city is two hours by train🚆 and one hour by car🚘from Himeji. When you visit, make sure to check out the Yappu and Yappi’s souvenirs🎁🌟! Yappu and Yappi welcome you to visit!

In the beauitful Yura Port🛥🌊✨on Awaji Island in Hyogo Prefecture, the area is famous for its top quality sea urchin (uni), seasonally catched from spring to summer.🍀🌞

In May, divers harvest the "purple sea urchin" (ムラサキウニ), and in August, the rare and prized "red sea urchin" (赤ウニ).🤗🤿

Awaji Island's natural environemnt provides the perfect conditions for marine life.🐟🐡🐚 Minerals carried from the mountains⛰ to the sea enrich the waters🩵, supporting healthy growth for fish and sea urchin alike. In particular, the island's abudance of seaweed, sea urchin's primary food source, contributes greatly to their exceptional size and flavor.😋🤲

Sea urchins are delicate creatures and must be handled with care. From harvesting🥽🛟🪤 to processing🧺, they are collected by hand🏊🖐 with minimal contact to preserve their quality.

Once opened and carefully placed in wooden boxes, the sea urchins are shipped to markets🗾 in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto, where they are sold as a premium product in high-end sushi restaurants.🍣🏆💎

However, drastic changes in ocean temperatures🌡🆘 and deforestation🌏🌲 have had a direct impact🩺🧪 on sea urchin growth.🩹📉 Since 2015, Kawakita Katsuhiko, Director of the Yura Town Fisheries Cooperative Association, has been working with his team to preserve the natural environment and develop sustainable methods🌈💫 to continue producing high quality sea urchin, while passsing down the tradition to younger generations.😊💪
